The Federal science and technical college, Ohanso was formerly known as Federal Technical College, Ohanso. It was initially sited at okposi in then Imo State, now Ebonyi State. On relocation to Ohanso in 1995 the college took over the premises of former Technical College, Ohanso and Inherited both the student and equipment of the college. Today, basic Trades in Engineering, Electrical, Business and Building Trades are firmly established at the college. The college is accredited and approved in all the trades by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) . The National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) is fully in charge of the conduct of National Technical Certificate (NTC) and the National Business Certificate (NBC) Examination for which the college prepares students. Students who pass out of the college are qualified for admission into university, Polytechnic or College of Education through JAMB like holders of SSCE or GCE Examination results. The students are accorded priority attention in job opportunities after graduation .The College also offers admission and runs Junior Secondary School and Senior Secondary Certificate Examination Programmes leading to the Senior Secondary Courses in either Science or Technology. The college is co- education and has full boarding house system.
